Waiting on Wednesday with Mark Edwards: Here To Stay

Hi and welcome to Waiting on Wednesday! Originally hosted at Breaking the SpineWaiting on Wednesday has now linked up with Can’t Wait Wednesday at Wishful Endings.

Today (and many more days to come) I’m waiting with Mark Edwards for his new novel Here To Stay. It’s no secret I’m a huge Mark Edwards fan, he’s one of my auto-buy authors and I have read (and enjoyed!) pretty much everything he’s ever written, with the exception of his series with Louise Voss (which is ridiculous because I’m a huge fan of Louise’s too, so I really need to get a move on and read those books) and his latest novella Last of the Magpies (which is currently waiting on my e-reader).

Let’s take a peek at the cover, which Mark revealed in his newsletter on Monday.

It’s rocking the “cover with a house on it” trend, very dark and super ominous what with the silhouette in the window, and look at those branches crossing the letters, love it!

And this is what the blurb says:
A beautiful home. A loving wife. And in-laws to die for.
Gemma Robinson comes into Elliot’s life like a whirlwind, and they marry and settle into his home. When she asks him if her parents can come to stay for a couple of weeks, he is keen to oblige – he just doesn’t quite know what he’s signing up for.
The Robinsons arrive with Gemma’s sister, Chloe, a mysterious young woman who refuses to speak or leave her room. Elliot starts to suspect that the Robinsons are hiding a dark secret. And then there are the scars on his wife’s body that she won’t talk about . . .
As Elliot’s in-laws become more comfortable in his home, encroaching on all aspects of his life, it becomes clear that they have no intention of moving out. To protect Gemma, and their marriage, Elliot delves into the Robinsons’ past. But is he prepared for the truth?

Doesn’t that sound fab! In-laws from hell, what’s not to love, right! As long as they’re fictional that is… Come to think of it, I would love to know what Mark’s in-laws have to say about Here To Stay ? I can’t wait to read this, and I’m very curious as to whether Here To Stay will be the one to overtake Follow You Home as my favourite Mark Edwards novel!

Here To Stay is out on 1 September in all possible formats and can be pre-ordered here.

Are you a fan too, will you be waiting with me? Let me know below, and in the meantime: happy reading!
