The Book of Purrs – Everyday Thoughts from Your Feline Friends by Luis Coelho #TheBookofPurrs #NetGalley

The internet’s favorite googly-eyed feline—@purr.in.ink—wrote a book to send you a little bit of love and a whole lot of joy.
As every cat-lover knows, purring is the way a cat shows affection and happiness, and The Book of Purrs is just that! From cover to cover, Portuguese illustrator Luis Coelho’s delightful collection of comics—an extension of his popular Instagram @purr.in.ink—is filled with affirmations and encouraging reminders to find joy in making mistakes, chasing lost dreams, and refilling empty food bowls…they are still cats, after all.
The Book of Purrs: Everyday Thoughts from Your Feline Friends is the purr-fect gift for the cat lover in your life, and anyone in need of a daily dose of paws-itivity!

Hi and welcome to my review of The Book of Purrs!

I follow @purr.in.ink on Instagram, his comics never fail to make me smile, so when I discovered there was a whole book of them (thanks Yvonne 😉), of course I had to check it out!

The Book of Purrs is an extension of the online comics, there are some you might recognise but there are brand-new comics included as well. For those who aren’t familiar with the artist: the drawings are rather simple but all the more effective for it. The cats are black, the backgrounds most often beautifully colourful in a style reminiscent of water colour paintings and pointillism. Some made me smile, some made me laugh out loud, some made me think (you know, I think I would really benefit from talking to myself like I do to cats), and one (about having to say goodbye to your beloved feline) even made me cry.

I think this is the perfect book for any cat lover! I read it cover to cover, but I think it might work best as a coffee table book or even a bedside table book, letting you charge up on positivity and a touch of feline energy before bed. I would definitely recommend it to cat loving readers or as a gift to the cat lover in your life.

The Book of Purrs is out on 22 (eBook) and 24 (hardcover) October.

Thanks to Andrews McMeel Publishing and NetGalley for the DRC. All opinions are my own.
