Stacking the Shelves: FairyLoot Unboxing – December box

Hi and welcome to another Fairyloot unboxing! It’s been a hot minute, I got my last box in September, as I succeeded in steering clear of the October and November boxes. I have to admit the October box was pretty cool so I kinda regret not buying that one, but anyway, after two months, I was on tenterhooks to receive the December box!

This month the theme was Defying the Odds, and we were told we’d receive not one but two books, one being an ARC. I was so there for that! But now that I’ve got it, how happy am I with this box? Well, to be brutally honest, I felt a little let down, this is actually my least favourite box in terms of goodies.

Let’s have a look:

A bookish microfiber cloth (I wasn’t thrilled with this, but it’s actually really pretty and good quality), bookish socks (I usually love bookish socks but these are rather in your face, aren’t they), a pin (I usually love the Fairyloot pins, but I’m not sure about this one), tea inspired by The Priory of the Orange Tree (it’s black tea with orange peel and it’s very tasty and smells amazing, but I was hoping for something more decorative to put in my book nook), Game of Thrones pencils (again, I was hoping for something more decorative), a pouch (it’s really pretty but I really didn’t need another pouch) and magnetic bookmarks (which I usually love, but these are a bit too sci-fi for me, although the middle one is kinda cute).

Alright, let’s have a look at the books then!

The Fairyloot book is a signed special edition of Eight Will Fall by Sarah Harian. It was not on my radar but it sounds great and I’m looking forward to reading it: magic is outlawed and eight criminals are sent on a mission to kill an ancient evil. The ARC is Wicked as You Wish by Rin Chupeco and I’m chuffed with that one! I know Rin’s Bone Witch series is very popular, I haven’t read it but I liked The Girl from the Well, so I have high hopes for this ARC. It’s a special edition, including a signed bookplate, and I have so much cover love! It’s about a girl whose family has old ties to Avalon and the return of the Snow Queen, and it sounds right up my street.

Well that was the December box! Are the books on your wishlist, do you like the goodies? Tell me below!
