Hi and welcome to the Positivity Wave #2! Once again I’m joining Meggy on her journey to appreciate the little things in life, be sure to check out Meggy list for this week on Chocolate’n’Waffles.
Like I told you last week, I’ve had this week off work, so obviously it’s been very easy to be positive: no stress, going to bed whenever I feel like it, getting up whenever I wake up, not because the alarm clock tells me to.
And lots of other things made me very happy too:
How happy Meggy was when I joined in last week 💜
Having great weather this week, sunny and warm but not so hot that I want to lock myself in the fridge.
Getting all my Orentober ducks in a neat, colour-coded row, meaning I figured out a schedule and who to send requests to.
Not one but two Orenda goddesses agreeing to do a Q&A with me for Orentober 🥰
Going up in a hot air balloon! So peaceful, and the most amazing views. That’s one item checked off my bucket list (although I’d do it again in a heartbeat!)
Being #blogoftheday over on @The_WriteReads and getting so many lovely reactions from other bloggers, and some new followers too. If you’re reading this: thanks and welcome!
Going shopping for chickens! Meet Bleu and Bien-Cuit! (Bleu is a bit shy 😄)
Going shopping for water plants. I can’t wait for that first waterlily to brighten up our pond!
Getting glorious book post from Orenda Books 😍

How was your week, what made you happy? Tell me below, let’s make some positive waves, because misery might like company, but positivity LOVES company 😉💛
What a great week!
Love your pictures <3 I've never been in a hot air balloon, but i think i'd try it if i had the chance 🙂
Are those, like pet chickens? The white one looks super serious! Like she's about to give us a serious lecture about something really grim 😀
If you ever have the chance, go for it, it was amazing! Not really pet chickens no, we got them for the eggs so they’ll have to earn their keep ? Poor Bien-Cuit, she does watch me quite sternly ?
Although it was one of the worst weeks in my life, I still had a lot of positive things:
– I received 200 points from Fahrenheit Press for my birthday
– Receiving all those positives from the bookish community
– Receiving Catan-A Game of Thrones for my birthday from a colleague
– Although I won’t be going back to work soon, I’m at home during summer break with my son so we can spend more time together than planned
– Receiving all those birthday wishes
– I got it last week on Friday but I am still so happy with it: my bookpost from @ingstje
I’m happy you found the positive in the negative, my friend ?
This sounds like the best week! I think it’s important to reflect on the positives, I’m trying my hardest to do this, rather that focusing on the negative!
My positives:
– Like you, getting #Orentober ducks in a row
– Interacting with some spectacular indies for a December project.
– Spending quality time with my close friend who is about to have her first child
– taking the family out for a meal (we don’t do it often)
– Bella is back after recovering from hospital visits!
I’m in love with your chickens, I would love to have pet chickens and ducks!
Can anyone get involved with #ThePossitivitywave?
Tell me more!
Just realised I spelt positivity wrong… Damn it!
For some reason it’s a very tough word to spell!
Finding the postive is so important! I don’t think I’ll find the time in an ordinary week but I’m going to try because these are so much fun to do ? You most certainly can get involved! Just refer to Meggy as the original hostess (her post is not up yet but she does one every Friday) and list your positives any way you want to ?
What’s in a name huh :-). Lovely to meet your chickens, I hope they lay a lot of eggs! I look forward to Orentober already and reading your posts! I had another week of sleepless nights and feeling pretty down and that’ll continue for a while because the new house owners sent me a notice and want to evict me from my apartment as soon as possible. I have lost my reviewing mojo a bit but on a positive note, I received some much appreciated help in the form of a guest review on the blog which will be up on Sunday :-), and I’m reading another great book atm to keep my mind of things :-). Happy weekend Kelly!
Wait what?! Evict you? Can they do that? You bought a new place last year, right? Any chance it will be ready in time? Enjoy your book, lovely and try
I’m commenting in cliffhangers again ? and try not to stress, is what I meant to say ? Although I’m not the one to talk because I stress about everything ?
They can totally do that, they want to live there themselves and they can terminate the contract early. And yes I bought a small apartment but it won’t be ready by then. I don’t know yet when it’ll be finished (they’re not giving me any info) but I’d definitely need one or two months longer. I told them but they obviously don’t care. It’s too soon to start freaking out, I know, but still, I’m a big worrier too so it’s difficult to not let it get to me. Maybe the news wears off in a few weeks :-). Oh and I forgot, I did a balloon trip about 15 years ago for a birthday, I would never go bunji jumping or jump out of a plane but this was something totally different, I loved it and wouldn’t hesitate to do it again either.
I hope your living situation works out!! Is there anyone you could stay with if push comes to shove?
Maybe, I haven’t asked anyone yet. There’s always the couch at my parents because my grandmother lives with them now in what was my room. I’m worried for Poes though. Anyway, we’ll see… I’m going in denial mode for a while now :-). Thanks lovely for your concern!
Denial is actually a pretty good place to be in my experience. I always get worked up in advance but in the end everything always works out. So if you can hide in denial for a while, it’ll work out before you know it ? Let me know if there’s anything I can do, for real!
keep my mind *off* things
I friggin love this, I have felt extra grumpy and moody this week and cried over every tiny little thing but at the same time I’ve had two amazing days with J & L we have had picnics up Calton hill and a day spent relaxing at the beach having a bbq and soaking up the sun. I’ve managed to squeeze in some extra reading time. And decided to start up a Blogger in the Spotlight post on the blog and was overwhelmed by the amazing response of so many lovely bloggers wanting to take part.
Loving your photos those chickens are adorable and nothing better than fresh eggs, hot air ballon trip looked amazing but I’m too scared ? and your Orenda post is just heaven and I can’t wait for orentober ?
Aww thanks Sarah ? Sorry to hear you’ve been grumpy and moody, that’s me next week most likely (back to work AND those days of the month ?) But I’m happy you’ve had some fab moments too!! I’ll send you my BintheS answers asap btw ?
Aww I know that feeling well. Aww thank you lovely and no rush ?
Woo hoo! Congrats on another great week. That hot air ballon ride looked epic???
Thanks Jonetta ? It was fabulous!!
I’ve wanted to do a hot air balloon ride for so long. Got all geared up for it once in S Africa only for it to be cancelled at the last minute because of poor weather conditions. Then thought we’d try again in Namibia – holiday got cancelled….One day I’ll make it
Wow, S Africa, that would have been amazing! But I’m sure any hot air balloon ride is marvellous, the feeling of floating in the air is so unique and peaceful!
Ohh I like the concept of thoses posts!
ahahah bien-cuit xD being french, I find that name hilarious.
Wow, the view in the hot air-baloon is indeed marvelous! I’m not sure i’d have the balls to do it though..
Thanks Kristina ? Feel free to join in! Just refer your readers back to Meggy.
It started as a joke, the grey one is a breed called Bleu de Landes so we called her Bleu and so I suggested Bien-Cuit for the other one and the hubby found that hilarious too, so it stuck ?
Wonderful photos of a fab week! I’m still on holiday and having lots of happy moments!
Thanks Nicki! I’m so happy you’re having fun on your holiday, enjoy ?
I love the chickens! ❤️ I think week what made me happy was all the love you and everyone else gave me. And the keeping me in check! Nice to have you ? plus it being a week and feeling better lol xx
Aww well get used to it, we ain’t going nowhere ?? Glad you’re feeling better but don’t overexert yourself!
Wow, what a lovely week off! Your hot air balloon photos are fab too! This is such a great idea 🙂 I might join in with a monthly positivity post (an extra post per week would be too much for me).
Yes!! That would be great! I’m not sure I will do this every week either, it’s fun to do but it takes time and some effort, which I don’t always have. But this is a guilt-free wave, you surf it whenever the time is right ??
