Hi and welcome to my 20 Books of Summer challenge – wrap-up! I thought I’d give you an overview of my 20 books, including links to the reviews.
Back in June, I made a selection of books I had to read for blog tours, books from NetGalley and books from my own TBR. I swapped some books around, and I made one more change after my update post: I replaced one Orenda book (Welcome to the Heady Heights) by another (The Seven Doors) because I was being a Fickle Frieda and I felt more like reading Nordic Noir.
The blog tour selection:
1. The First Lie, A. J. Park (review)
2. The Big Chill, Doug Johnstone (review)
3. The Witch House, Ann Rawson (review)
4. The Quickening, Rhiannon Ward (review)
The NetGalley selection:
5. One by One, Ruth Ware (review)
6. A Ruined Girl, Kate Simants (review)
7. The Resident, David Jackson (review)
8. Alpha Omega, Nicolas Bowling (review)
9. Mexican Gothic, Silvia Moreno-Garcia (review)
My own TBR – the Orenda Books selection in preparation of #Orentober:
10. The Seven Doors, Agnes Ravatn (sneak preview)
11. We Were the Salt of the Sea, Roxanne Bouchard (sneak preview)
12. Epiphany Jones, Michael Grothaus (sneak preview)
13. Faithless, Kjell Ola Dahl (sneak preview)
14. Hinton Hollow Death Trip, Will Carver (review)
My own TBR, among which 2 audiobooks, and one novel that due to its size gave me cold feet last year so I’ve added it to motivate myself to finally pick it up:
15. His & Hers, Alice Feeney (review)
16. Magpie Lane, Lucy Atkins (review)
17. The Minders, John Marrs (review)
18. Dead Wrong, Noelle Holten (review)
19. The Southern Book Club’s Guide to Slaying Vampires, Grady Hendrix (review)
20. The Priory of the Orange Tree, Samantha Shannon (review)
Thanks for stopping by! Did you sign up, and if so, how did your challenge go?
Woohoo congratulations!
Going by your list that includes blog tour books I finished last night! I thought I needed to read 3 more but I’m going to include my blog tour books and relax over the weekend instead of racing through The Mydworth Mysteries to finish the challenge. Thank you Kelly! 🙂
Thanks Nicki! Of course I included some blog tour books, no need to stress too much, it’s summer 😄
Fickle Frieda. 🤣🤣
Congratulations on nailing the challenge! There are some excellent books on that list. *smug face* 😏
😂
What a great selection of books and you passed the challenge with flying colours 👍
Thanks Inge, I did have a brilliant bookish summer 😊
What a great selection of books and you passed the challenge with flying colours 👍 Congratulations!
Fabulous titles here Kelly!
I’m posting my ‘Wrap-Up’ on the 31st.
Woohoo, nice reading this summer. The quickening and mexican gothic both sound exciting.
Thank Annelies! They really are!
Amazing list! I have a few of the same, very jealous of the Grady Hendrix, I’ve my eye on that one. Can I recommend Horrorstor next since you’ve added his backlist? 🙂
Thanks Roxanne! I’ve since listened to Horrorstor, I loved it!
It feels like yesterday than everyone was posting about what they wanted to read in the summer! x
The summer has flown by!
Awesome Kelly! 🙌🏻 What a smasher of a summer batch ‘o’ books that is! 😊
It really is 😊 Thanks Lisa!
Oh wow you nailed it! I ended up being too ambitious by only wanting non ARCs for the challenge and came up three titles short. xD I have The Minders, Dead Wrong and The Seven Doors coming up soon and I can’t wait!
Thanks Yvo! I really wanted to do the challenge but I also wanted to be kind to myself and I was (and I am) really happy with my mix of tour books, NG ARCs, and own books.
You should! It’s a fantastic mix of books and I kind of wish I would have done the same and treated myself more nicely when putting together my own challenge. 😉 xD
Lesson learnt for next year 😊
KELS!!!! THIS POST IS SOOO CUTTEEE!!!! AND WHOAA!! ALL THESE BOOKS – I have already added some of them because of your awesome reviews and now I am saving this to read the rest of them!!!! <3 <3 <3 YOU ROCK!!!! AS ALWAYSSS!!! <3

Well done!!! If i was kinder to myself I would have smashed it but as it was, i got 6 – doh xx
Thank you 😊 Yeah you were so harsh on yourself! Better luck (and more kindness) next year!
