🌞 My 20 books of summer 2020 – Update 😎#20booksofsummer20

Hi and welcome to my 20 Books of Summer challenge – update! I thought I’d show you where I’m at with the challenge and the tweaks I’ve made.

I made a selection of books I have to read for blog tours, books from NetGalley and books from my own TBR. However, two of those blog tours were September tours and I haven’t even received the books yet, so I decided to replace these by two August tours I signed up for since creating the list. I also swapped one of my own books for a NetGalley one.

One more thing you need to know: I found myself incapable of giving The First Lie a positive review, so I shared a chapter on the blog tour instead. I’m not opposed to negative reviews but the author was clearly very enthusiastic about this tour and I didn’t feel comfortable shoving my mixed feelings review in his face, so my review is on Goodreads instead. The Orenda titles I’ve read have been reviewed but I’ll be sitting on those reviews until #Orentober 😏

And this is the new list, with the read titles in green and the available links added:

The blog tour selection:

1. The First Lie, A. J. Park (review)
2. The Big Chill, Doug Johnstone (review to come)
3. The Witch House, Ann Rawson (review to come)
4. The Quickening, Rhiannon Ward

The NetGalley selection:

5. One by One, Ruth Ware (review)
6. A Ruined Girl, Kate Simants (review to come)
7. The Resident, David Jackson (review)
8. Alpha Omega, Nicolas Bowling (review)
9. Mexican Gothic, Silvia Moreno-Garcia (review)

My own TBR – the Orenda Books selection in preparation of #Orentober:

10. Welcome to the Heady Heights, David F. Ross
11. We Were the Salt of the Sea, Roxanne Bouchard (#Orentober)
12. Epiphany Jones, Michael Grothaus (#Orentober)
13. Faithless, Kjell Ola Dahl (#Orentober)
14. Hinton Hollow Death Trip, Will Carver (review)

My own TBR, among which 2 audiobooks, and one novel that due to its size gave me cold feet last year so I’ve added it to motivate myself to finally pick it up:

15. His & Hers, Alice Feeney (review)
16. Magpie Lane, Lucy Atkins (review)
17. The Minders, John Marrs
18. Dead Wrong, Noelle Holten (review to come)
19. The Southern Book Club’s Guide to Slaying Vampires, Grady Hendrix (review)
20. The Priory of the Orange Tree, Samantha Shannon (review to come)

Thanks for stopping by! Did you sign up, and if so, how is your challenge going?
