Hi and welcome to my 20 Books of Summer challenge! As most, if not all, of you will know, this challenge is hosted by Cathy at 746 books. Check out her post here and link up here if you want to join in.
I’ve made a selection of books I have to read for blog tours, books from NetGalley and books from my own TBR. Note that I will publish the reviews of some these as late as September and October (Cathy promised to be lenient 😉), although I will be writing them in summer, you’ll just have to take my word for it! Full disclosure: I might not review all the books from my own TBR, or resort to bite-sized reviews, I’ve been struggling for the better part of this year so no pressure, it’s more like I really want to read them this summer, and if I’m feeling really uninspired and not in the mood to review them, I won’t force myself. We’ll see how it goes, one day and one book at a time 😊
The blog tour selection:
1. The First Lie, A. J. Park
2. The Trials of Koli (The Rampart Trilogy Book 2), M. R. Carey
3. The Witch House, Ann Rawson
4. The Bone Shard Daughter, Andrea Stewart
The NetGalley selection:
5. One by One, Ruth Ware
6. A Ruined Girl, Kate Simants
7. The Resident, David Jackson
8. Alpha Omega, Nicolas Bowling
My own TBR – the Orenda Books selection in preparation of #Orentober:
9. Welcome to the Heady Heights, David F. Ross
10. We Were the Salt of the Sea, Roxanne Bouchard
11. Epiphany Jones, Michael Grothaus
12. Faithless, Kjell Ola Dahl
13. Hinton Hollow Death Trip, Will Carver
My own TBR, among which 3 audiobooks, and one novel that due to its size gave me cold feet last year so I’ve added it to motivate myself to finally pick it up:
14. His & Hers, Alice Feeney
15. Magpie Lane, Lucy Atkins
16. The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, Suzanne Collins
17. The Minders, John Marrs
18. Dead Wrong, Noelle Holten
19. The Southern Book Club’s Guide to Slaying Vampires, Grady Hendrix
20. The Priory of the Orange Tree, Samantha Shannon
What do you think? Any of these you’re planning on reading as well? Have you signed up too? Let’s chat! And read. A lot 😬 Wish me luck, especially with that no. 20!
Such a great selection. I really really want to read His & Hers, I hope I don’t have too great expectations for it though. I’m also intrigued by The First Lie and I look forward to all your Orenda reviews, I haven’t read any of them yet. Happy reading Kelly!
Thanks Inge 😊 I’m listening to His & Hers, I went in with high hopes and so far so good! Happy reading to you too xx
So … wait … basically you’re taking these superduper relaxed rules and bending them even more in your extreme cheating ways? 🤔🤣
That’s exactly it 😂
I like it. So proud of you 😂
😂
Thanks so much for taking part! Looks like you have a great summer of reading lined up! Magpie Lane is supposed to be excellent. Good luck and happy reading x
Fab list Kelly! I saw Ruth Ware talking about One By One on her Insta live chat with Clare Mackintosh and sounds really good! xx
Thanks Nicki 😊 I have high hopes and great expectations for the new Ruth Ware, her books just keep getting better, still can’t believe I was approved!
Great list! I want to change some of my list to add a couple of yours 😂
Do it 😂 My post was up for like 4 hours and then I found the new Doug Johnstone in my letterbox and already started contemplating changing the list 🙈😂
😂😂 I’m not looking for now. I’ll probably end up changing them all 🤦🏻♀️😂
When you aren’t cheating 🤣 we have 2 netgalley ones we could maybe buddy read? Xx fab list of books x
Yes! You had Ruth Ware, right? What was the 2nd one? xx
Yeah I have Ruth and then resident 🙂 x
Yes Ruth ware and The Resident! Yay x
I should have included Blog Tours!!
Great list – and I should have added Orange Tree – I’ve been meaning to read it for ages now! Far too many books!
Happy reading!
Here’s my list – https://onemoreword.uk/2020/06/03/20booksofsummer-or-the-big-netgalley-catch-up-amreading-books/
I was never not going to include blog tours, life is stressful enough as it is 😂 I might live to regret adding Priory 🙈
I like your line-up! Lots of goodies and of course you can never go wrong with Orenda… I’m hoping to read Dead Wrong too in preparation for the ARC of book three, but I’m not sure if I can get to it before. xD I hope you will enjoy these! xx
Thanks Yvo 😊 I actually won a signed paperback of Dead Wrong! Unfortunately it’s delayed because of covid19 but I’d already bought the eBook so if push comes to shove I’ll read that 😊
Oh that’s wonderful! I read the first book and loved it, but somehow never read the sequel… Only to be invited to read the third book, and of course now I have the excuse to read both and catch up. 😉
Good luck with your challenge. I have two of these on my TBR. “Magpie Lane” and “His & Hers”.
I’ll be participating in 20 Books of Summer as well.
We can cheer each other on. Happy reading!
Thanks Lynne and good luck to you too! I’ve already listened to His & Hers and I loved it.
I love how you have this organized, Kelly💜 Lots to like in your summer reading plan!
Thanks Jonetta 💜
